Supported and unsupported file types

TaxDome accepts most file types when you upload documents, but blocks a small set of high-risk formats to keep your firm and clients safe. This article covers which file types are supported across the web, desktop, and mobile apps, and which are unsupported.
Supported file types
TaxDome supports all extensions other than the ones listed under unsupported file types below—common examples include PDF, Word (.doc, .docx), Excel (.xls, .xlsx, .csv), images (.jpg, .png, .gif), and text files (.txt).

Zip files can be uploaded to the TaxDome web or client portal but not to TaxDome Drive.Windows app
The Windows app only accepts the following file types:

For unsupported file types, use the web app to upload instead.

The maximum file size for uploads through the web portal and Windows app is 200 MB.Unsupported file types
TaxDome blocks file types that pose a higher risk for malware and malicious content. Uploading an unsupported file shows an error message next to it; other files in the same batch still upload successfully.
